True Colors

I have read some books on getting to know who I really am and why I do what I do, and of course also have done Bible study on various books regarding who I am in Christ.  This is all still a learning process since I tend to change with age and experiences.  I sometimes think I could be a chameleon.  Not that I blend in with the world so to speak but because I tend to change colors throughout my life.

I am learning however that I am who I am and not just what people want me to be.  My focus these days are to be true to myself, and keep my Christianity in perspective.  I try to evaluate my thoughts and actions and make sure they are lined up with the command for Godliness.  I fail miserably but I still strive.

I found this "list" to help me to define who I am.  It is appropriately entitled, "Knowing Yourself".  The author is AW Tozer.

(basically think this: "We are....")
1. What we want most.
2. What we think about most
3. How we use our money.
4. What we do with our leisure time.
5.  The company we enjoy.
6. Whom and what we admire.
7. What we laugh at.

I found these statements pretty revealing when you consider what we ADMIRE,  what we LAUGH at (think movies watched), what we SPEND on (Too much food?), and what is it that we WANT?

Spend sometime this weekend thinking about who you are and choose your color.  This chameleon is!
