You can’t be in a hurry in this county. I just followed a huge tow truck for several miles inhaling its diesel exhaust. I would think I was high but it probably is the lack of sleep. How ya all been? I have been keeping life simple at home and enjoying some leisure but my sleep schedule is a little mixed up. I am still keeping hours at the doctor’s office but today I needed to catch up on some business at home.
I have a new girl in the house. Cally, my cat, has a little sis named Suzy. Cally is not too pleased. I love my Cally girl but Suzy is about a palmful of joy. She has energy and has the whole world to explore…our house of course. The best part is I have a cat to snuggle with. Cally has brought warmth and life into our home but she doesn’t snuggle. She will lie at my feet when I nap. Suzy will lie right on me. Her first night she slept under my chin. It’s feast or famine with my cats. She has won the hearts of my men folk but I still think Cally is their girl.
I was thinking of a story to share or some great insight I have received but I am drawing a blank. Could it be that Anna’s life is dramaless and maybe in fact, peacefully normal? I know there are new challenges ahead but the challenges I have now are sufficient and I am glad for some Godly mercy.
I am contemplating cleaning my house this morning. It looks very neat but I know the furniture needs polishing, bathrooms need to be cleaned and there is always wash. I have much to do in terms of paperwork and organization but I have no umph! I have work at the office I need to do as well. Hmmm! The only thing I want to do is relax and read. I am starting a new book called Love Must Be Tough by James Dobson. It’s an old book I found at a thrift store. I recently read a book called A New Normal by Carol Kent. It was a tragic book. Her life truly tests her faith. I am encouraged by her humanness and reality of her struggles. She is acting on her faith and choosing God in the midst of some real hopeless circumstances. I can relate. Sometimes we don’t “feel” God’s presence or His movement in our lives, yet we must choose to act and participate in life based our genuine belief in our Lord Jesus. Today I celebrate His mercy and loving grace. I have felt the rod of discipline these days and I thankful for a true sense of spiritual joy today.
Well, I need to get to work on my abode. I am going to check out the “Fly Lady” website. If you have not checked out this website give it a “looksy” soon. She has this acronym that is hilarious and oh so true at times. CHAOS – Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome.” The website is www.flylady.net
Here’s a snippet of her site:
This is my full "morning routine". It took me several months to work up to a full blown morning routine. I did most of the things, but they were not automatic. Now they are. Look at the way I move through the house starting with getting dressed. As I move from room to room, I am finished with most of it. Then I check to see if I have missed anything on my list.
I realize this may seem like a lot, but if you do your "Before Bed Routine", this part is a piece of cake. All you are really doing is getting dressed, sprucing up the bathroom, going to the kitchen, and taking care of yourself. - FlyLady
The morning routine is broken down into four parts:
1. Rise and Shine
a. Make your bed as soon as you get out of it (unless your DH is still there).
b. Go into the bathroom.
c. Shower and clean the bathroom while you are there.
d. Fix your hair and face.
e. Swish the toilet and leave the room never to return till later. It is clean and you can forget about it for now.
f. Leave your bedroom with a load of laundry in hand and go straight to the washer.
2. Kitchen
If you did your Before Bed Routine, the kitchen is clean and all you need to do is empty the dishwasher.
a. Make coffee and start breakfast.
b. Feed the critters.
c. Feed the family (including yourself).
3. Think About Your Day
Check your calendar.
a. Make your list of what you are going to do today (PODA or To Do List)
b. Thaw something for dinner.
c. Checkbook (bring down your balance).
d. Reboot the laundry (put in dryer).
e. Hit the hotspots. If you did your Before Bed Routine there will not be any.
4. Now Think About Yourself
Take your vitamins and medications.
a. Sit down.
b. Eat breakfast (if you haven't already).
c. Morning Meditation: God, Imagination, Focus, Thanksgiving (GIFT).
d. Now reward yourself with some computer time. Check your e-mail.
OF COURSE I CHOSE THE EASY PART OF THE DAY! Have a great day and if you are a SHE (Side-tracked Home Executive- flylady term) have a productive day at work. Love ya, acf
