Walk with me Daddy
So the story goes like this, there was a late television host, whose wife died. He and his 5 year old son were staying in an hotel on the shore to cope with the untimely death of his wife. The five year old asked his father, "Daddy? Come out and walk on the beach with me." The dad shook his head and the child continued to plead. The dad tells the boy, "I can't son. I'm just too tired." The little boy sat on the edge of the bed awhile, and then said, "Daddy? Will you just come walk with me till you fall down?"
Friends, we are asked to walk... to take the first step in accomplishing God's will. Sometimes we don't know what the next step we should take is and even if we can accomplish the step. However, like the little boy, we are asked to walk not matter whether we feel like it or not. We can walk my friends until we tire and fall. He will be there to pick us up.
The question poses itself to us, "How will I take the next step?"
story found in Devotions for Nibblers, Kristen Johnson Ingram.
