Hello, my friends. Today, I want to share what Beth Moore taught us through Bible study last night. She taught on "destiny". First I want you to think about how you define "destiny".
Destiny is not fate. Destiny is not something you can manuever. Destiny is a spiritual journey that get us to a place to fulfill God's will and his purpose for our lives. Beth shared with us that "One of the most important parts of fulfilling our destiny will be transparency." Our experiences, girlfriends, are a means to define who we are (developing character) and the experiences validate our knowledge/wisdom, basically "been there. done that." Beth stated, "It will often be crisis that God uses to pivot our direction." Our direction to where? Our destiny. Beth charged us to "Remember, destiny appoints one but affects many." And, "The revelation of a person's destiny always demands a revelation of the person."
You see, my friends, destiny is really NOT about achieving something for ourselves, or to come to an end of a goal. It is about what God has allowed you to endure, experience, and even enjoy in order to share with others and as in Esther's case, be in a place to accomplish something "big" for God. I don't believe we do anything "little" in God's eyes when we accomplish His purposes.
Let's look at Esther 4:14 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?"
Mordecai was speaking through Queen Esther's eunuch, Hathach. He posed this question to Esther to consider her "destiny". Mordecai was mourning the impending annilihation of Jews in Persia, due to a decree set by Haman. He wanted Esther to approach the King regarding the fate of the Jews. Girlfriends, this is such a great story. I urge you to read Esther. I want you to read the questions below carefully and ask yourselves some of these questions. The details won't apply but consider the "whys" in your life. We have a destiny and we affect those around us.
Beth writes in this weeks study several questions that Mordecai inferred in his familiar question to Esther, "..who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?"
Esther, what if you were born for this very moment?
What about all the events that led to your queenship! Why on earth did we stay here and not go to Jerusalem when we could?
Why were you the exact right age at the exact right time to be chosen for the harem?
Why amid so many girls, were the eunuchs so partial to you? Why did they go out of their way to help you?
Why did the King have such favor on you? Why didn't he just make you one of his concubines?
What in the world made him marry you and set the crown on your head?
Why is a Jewish woman the Queen of Persia at such a time as this? Must it not be providence? Must it not be God?
Girlfriends, we are royalty. But Beth assures us "You have a royal blood in a way that even Esther did not. The crimson bloodline of Christ flows through your veins." "Not only are you royalty, but you also have been placed in your sphere of influence, regardless of the size you perceive it to be, "for such a time as this." "You see, even your current location is part of the set-up for your kingdom destiny."
Some scripture:
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Ecclesiastes 3:2
2A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
Acts 17:26
26and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
Ephesians 1:11
11also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
Friends, God's will and purposes will be fulfilled with or without us. However, we will be missing out on blessings and peace that comes with the journey toward the destiny, and seeing it's accomplishment. It's more than a legacy. It is the pleasure of obedience and our Father smiling on us.
Some Beth tools: She asks herself these questions when she struggles internally with participation or having to make decision in areas of her life.
What if this is a critical moment?
What if this very thing, this very decision, the most important piece of the puzzle comprising my purpose?
This post basically brings to mind (again) that we are called to a purpose and every moment and decision is an investment for God. Use of our time and what we experience puts us in position to fulfill a destiny. Maybe, for such a time as this?
Love you truly. I will be posting another post on destiny from a sermon by John Piper, tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

Anna,
Wish I could have been a fly on the wall with you last night. It sounds like a wonderful discussion I bet you all had.
And I'm looking forward to tomorrow. John Piper is one of my very favorites.
