I am sitting here at 6:30 typing this blog with my plate full...not food. I have our Esther Bible study tonight. I am needing some time to catch up on a lesson ...or two. I have my "home" work, and a few calls to make. I am not feeling the excitement and anticipation of my men. Why? They really identify with their goals and need for accomplishment. They get into this sense of "worth by what I do" thing.
It's got me thinking this morning. Who am I when I "work"? Just a laborer. Certainly not! Well...maybe. Other than preparing for Bible Study and being with girlfriends, I think of my day and I don't feel the "love", ladies. So, this is a day where I start out..."Ok, my daddy God, show me the money...I mean give me fulfillment." Sorry if that sounded disrespectful.
I admit. I want to be irresponsible and just dive into my studies and prepare the prayer favor. I am babbling...but in my babbling, it is clear. What's wrong with doing just that? The dust is happy where it sits. The dishes can be used from the dishwasher. They might enjoy the space away from the cabinets. The laundry is done and it might like hanging around the room...loose and free. My work...my life assignment is encouraging my friends and I so enjoy God's word. So I believe my heavenly Father enjoys me shedding the routine in favor of Him.
Today I choose to be Mary and leave Martha until ...well maybe she will be absent for a bit.
Have a great day today...Are you a Mary or Martha today?
Luke 10:38-42
Martha and Mary
38Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.
39She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord's feet, listening to His word.
40But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me."
41But the Lord answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;
42but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

I tend to be a Martha maybe to often. I think I'll follow your lead today and be a Mary for a bit anyway. I pray that all your prayers are granted concerning your son's and DH.
Is is spring or what?I love this weather.
Hugs, Lisa
