Ladies there are some days that nothing goes right, or like a co-worker said today, “Everything has to be so hard today.” Usually these days or things are just life and random events that we don’t have control of. Then there are those days that we take negative ideas and/or emotions and internalize them. We start to question the love of Christ for us. We may feel picked on or down right unworthy. None of this is good, and as the Bible says, we need to hold our thoughts captive and bring them in to submission to the Word of God. Then we have those days where we might be feeling secure in our identity or our personal space, and some goof ball (usually woman) will say something spiteful or catty and suddenly we second guess ourselves and reevaluate our life – and probably sacrifice our contentment. We are emotional beings and we fall victim to our humanness at times, however, we are Godly women…Jesus girls! Our emotions shouldn’t govern our behavior causing us to flounder around unpredictable and eventually wallowing in self pity. So if you need some “pick me up” words, I have something to share with you.
My aunt from California sent this "email/forward" to me recently. I reread it tonight and I want to share it with you. It was special to receive this from a woman who knows me well. She had huge influence in my life. She represented stability and safety to 4 children (including me) who were growing up in an alcoholic home of pain, sadness, and insecurity. This is a woman who remains a stable source of encouragement. We just have to ask. I am so blessed to have her, and also I am so aware of how important it is to be that person to another.
Sorry, I was getting sentimental. She shared the following:
You wouldn't be so critical of yourself, or so conscious of the opinions of other - if you knew how God really felt about you!
He made up His Mind about you before you failed, so repent and dismiss the guilt - for guilt is the offspring of unbelief. It insults God's mercy.
Stop running around looking for love. Open your heart; God's speaking to you today in the very circumstances you're trying to escape.
He's the One you need when life has wounded you and you've fallen from your nesting place like a bird. Only His Hand can catch your falling soul, cast it to the wind and give you strength to try again - and succeed!
The problem is: we've never been loved by anyone the way God loves us, so we've nothing to compare it to!
Some of us have never been secure in the love of our natural parents and it affect how we see our Heavenly Father. Go back to His Word! It's a living love letter. It's a "statement of intent" from One Who wants only the best for you.
"But I fall short." Nothing you've done has changed His Mind!
His love for you is constant - and unconditional!
No parent wants their child to be insecure or question their love. That's why God disciplines us, develops us, and delights in us.
The fact that He love you even when you're wrong, is what gives you the power to right the wrongs you've done. So, come and experience His love afresh.
My aunt signed it “I love you too.” Wow! Now the challenge to us not only to read these words but to seek out these "truths" in the Bible. Find the verses to support His love for us. I did this last Sunday and it is powerful and yet,the verses provide sweet tender words that surround you in something intangibly soft. It might have been my "fat" cushioning me but I choose to believe the Holy Spirit's presence was proving my sense of airy, warm, comfort. (Are you laughing? WAH)
I love you, girlfriends, thank you for coming along with me in my ride of life. By the way, who has the keys? Ahh! Jesus…He’s taking the wheel.
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
