Do you all remember being a little girl and getting a fresh box of Crayola Crayons. I do. There was nothing like the sharp unused tips. I thought the big fat box of 48 was great but hey when I got the 64 pack with the sharpener in the back, well that was something! I loved coloring. I still do. I color with Jayden and Jordan. Mostly Jayden. She loves to color. I still buy crayons from back to school sales...why? I have more sophisticated coloring books now. They are specialty books of Victorian women in there fancy attire. I use color pencils. It has been some time since I broke them out and colored in them. It is very therapeudic for me. I guess it reminds me of simpler less stressful days.
Today's post is about color. I am looking out at a grey, misty day. I want to curl up with a book and be comfy. Yet, I am thinking about spring cleaning and sprucing up the house. So I got on the internet and Googled for some color ideas. I came across a wealth of information. I want to share with you.
First I decided to look up the meaning of colors. I found an interesting web site,
www.color-wheel-pro.com. It has a thorough and lengthy description of colors. I will paste alot of the info here but feel free to read it later.
RED:
Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Red is a very emotionally intense color. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure. It has very high visibility, which is why stop signs, stoplights, and fire equipment are usually painted red. In heraldry, red is used to indicate courage
Light red represents joy, sexuality, passion, sensitivity, and love.
Pink signifies romance, love, and friendship. It denotes feminine qualities and passiveness.
Dark red is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath.

Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Second, I decided to look into my favorite colors and how they reflect on my personality. I know many of these internet quizzes can/are not real scientific but I had some good results. Here they are:

Thirdly, I got practical in my research of color. I found a web site for a paint company that recommends colors for your interior and exterior of your home, based on what your personality is and what you want your home to convey. It was great.
